Medicinal plant to grow in edges and rockery. It is diuretic. It can treat sweating and it relieves rheumatism. It is one of the most important honey plants for bees.
A 1m tall perennial or biennial plant with purple tubular flowers becoming blue and later violet. Lanceolate leaves. Four fruits looking like a viper head.
Prefers dry, stony, limestone and sandy soils. It is found on meadows, on stony slopes, on cliffs or in the steppes.
Direct sowing. Temperatures 15ºC night/20ºC day. Lightly cover the seeds and maintain the humidity until germination is completed.
