The Spearmint is a shrubby and culinary herb with medicinal properties for edges, herbs gardens and low hedges. The leaves and the essential oil extracted are used to flavour chewing-gums, sweets, meat, sauces, salads and drinks. It is used also used to prepare teas. It is antispasmodic, antiseptic, analgesic, anti-inflammatory and stimulating.
Evergreen aromatic plant of about 30 cm with a sweet and smooth perfume. The flowers are very narrow, white or lilac spikes. Hairy spear-shaped leaves.
Needs fresh soils and grows on humid areas. Invasive palnt. In a garden we recommend to sow it in pots.
