PLANTS OF DWARF JAPANESE CHEESEWOOD - PITTOSPORUM TOBIRA NANA

Attractive dwarf shrub with shining, leathery leaves and orange-scented, creamy-white flowers. Hedges. Houseplant. It is found in cities in hedges, in groups and in coastal areas for its good tolerance to maritime winds. It resists to air pollution and is used for erosion control. Ideal for topiary and cut foliage.

Evergreen shrub 1-2 m tall. Lanceolate or elliptic leaves with a double serrated side. The fruit is a greenish berry filled with seeds.

Dig a hole at least two or three times as wide and deep as the root ball. Take out the plant from the container and loosen roots to allow them to spread out in all direction. Cut possible broken roots. Mix the soil extracted with a substrate and fill part of the hole with the mixture obtained. Place the plant in the hole and cover with the remaining mixture. Compact the soil around the plant and water thoroughly.
