PLANTS OF CHINESE WINDMILL PALM - TRACHYCARPUS FORTUNEI

The Chinese Windmill Palm is an ideal palm tree for parks, gardens and indoor plant. It can be grown in groups or as an isolated tree. As an indoor plant it needs very bright spaces. Landscaping.

It can reach 15m. Big and dark green palmed leaves. Fibrous bark, aromatic yellow flowering between June and July. Grey-blue fruits.

It grows on fertile, well drained and dry soils. Frequent watering without flooding. Very cold hardy. It is recorded to have tolerated -24ºC.

Dig a hole at least two or three times as wide and deep as the root ball. Take out the plant from the container and loosen roots to allow them to spread out in all direction. Cut possible broken roots. Mix the soil extracted with a substrate and fill part of the hole with the mixture obtained. Place the plant in the hole and cover with the remaining mixture. Compact the soil around the plant and water thoroughly.
