Magnificent tree for ornamental use due to its spectacular white blossom and the reddish tones of its leaves in autumn.
Deciduous tree up to 20 metres high, pyramidal structure, grey cracked bark. Oval, almost rounded leaves, shiny on the upper side. The flowers are white with a long stalk and are presented in clusters at the end of the twigs. The fruit is the well-known pear, with a smooth green skin that turns brown or yellow when ripe. They attract birds.
Resistant to diseases and pests. Tolerant to acid soils, intense sun and drought, although it will always grow better with sun and regular drip irrigation.
