Medium tree with large mauve flowers heads. Spectacular when flowering. Parks and gardens. Bonsai. It is an elegant and colourful tree for avenues. The wood is of a great value for its cream and pink tones in furniture making and to decorate the inside of luxury cars.

Deciduous tree growing up to 12m  with bell-shaped purple blue flowers before the leaves. The pods are ligneous flat dark brown capsules containing the seeds. Prefers sandy and clay soils which keep humidity.

Dig a hole at least two or three times as wide and deep as the root ball. Take out the plant from the container and loosen roots to allow them to spread out in all direction. Cut possible broken roots. Mix the soil extracted with a substrate and fill part of the hole with the mixture obtained. Place the plant in the hole and cover with the remaining mixture. Compact the soil around the plant and water thoroughly.
