PLANTS OF SILK FLOSS TREE - CEIBA SPECIOSA

Medium tree with showy pink flowers. Drought resistant, fast growing and undemanding in soils. It attracts attention for its curious trunk bristling with thorns and for its showy flowers. Pinkish flowers that appear after the leaves fall. It is cultivated in groups or in alignments or singular. In public places, it is recommended to remove the spines from the trunk at least in its lower part to avoid accidents.

Dig a hole at least two or three times as wide and deep as the root ball. Take out the plant from the container and loosen roots to allow them to spread out in all direction. Cut possible broken roots. Mix the soil extracted with a substrate and fill part of the hole with the mixture obtained. Place the plant in the hole and cover with the remaining mixture. Compact the soil around the plant and water thoroughly.
