Decorative tree with its scarlet leaves in autumn. Bonsai. Slow growing. Native to Japan, Korea and China.
Deciduous tree up to 15 m., sometimes appears as a shrub. The leaves are palmately lobed turning from green to scarlet in autumn. The flowers are violet. The fruit is a pair of winged samaras.
