The Japanese Maple 'Butterfly' has variegated green leaves with cream-colored margins that are usually pink in spring and change to scarlet in autumn. It is small in size reaching 2 to 3m in height as an adult.
Beautiful Maple to create bonsai, it can also be grown in pots to decorate patios and terraces. In the garden it is very beautiful in a rockery area.
Exposure shade to half-shade. It does not tolerate full sun and does not like dry air. Withstands temperatures down to -20ºc. Neutral to acid soils with good drainage and fertile. Moderate watering, a little more frequent in summer.
