Cape myrtle is a slow-growing shrub perfect to form hedges, borders, as singular or forming groups. It is ideal in small gardens in a Mediterranean climate. Medicinal plant. Edible fruits. A gum obtained from the plant is used as a remedy in the treatment of dysmenorrhea. A decoction of the leaf is used as a blood purifier. The fruit is used as an anthelmintic. It is also laxative and is used in the treatment of dropsy and colic.
