Ornamental shrub ideal for topiary art and hedges because it tolerates pruning. Its hard wood has a unique color used for engraving, to make buttons and ustensils. Ideal potplant, used in florist art. It has laxative and homeopathic properties. It is used in case of rheumatism, to cure injuries, baldness, dermatitis. 

Evergreen 1.5m tall shrub. Small leaves, thick with bright green leaves. The flowers are small, yellow growing in clusters.

Preference for rich and well drained soils together with temperate climates.
