This wild rose has multiple uses and is therefore a very interesting plant in the garden.
It is an ornamental plant easy to grow with few requirements. It can be used to form dense hedges, screens. Its fruit, the rose hip, is used in the preparation of sweets and jams or to make herbal teas and liquors. It is rich in vitamin C. An oil is extracted from its seeds that is used in cosmetics.
Shrub about 2 m or more in height with very flexible, thorny stems and very glossy green deciduous leaves. The flowers are single, pinkish or pinkish-white with yellow stamens.
