A dark green curly endive with very fine leaves and creamy white leaves in the center. Frisee type. Very productive. 40-45cm in size. Heritage variety known and enjoyed since 1865. It has diuretic and laxative properties, also stimulating the appetite.
Direct sowing in July. Transplant seedlings in August. They are usually spaced 30 cm apart and rows spaced 50cm, putting 4-5 seeds. For a potted planting, it is advisable to use a pot with a minimum diameter of 22 cm or a wide rectangular planter.
Harvest from October-November.
