PLANTS OF PURPLE CHOKEBERRY ’VIKING’ - ARONIA × PRUNIFOLIA

The Chokeberry 'Viking' is a self-fertile fruiting shrub. Its fruits are slightly larger than currants and are eaten fresh, in jam, juice or dried. They contain a lot of vitamin C and antioxidant properties. In the garden it can be used to form hedges, as a specimen or in groups.

Deciduous, upright shrub up to 2 m high and 2 m wide, with matt dark green leaves that turn dark purple-red in autumn. Large clusters of white and pink flowers appear in late spring, followed by large black fruits that are harvested in late summer.
