Indoor and outdoor plant. Very showy. Ideal for Mediterranean style gardens.
The plant forms a stout tree up to 8 m tall, with a trunk from 40 to 80 cm in diameter. The stem is usually unbranched. Narrow and green leaves. The inflorescence is a panicle that arises from the base underneath the leaves. Also classified as Cordyline australis hort. indivisa.
Requires fertile, well-drained soils. Non hardy. Cordyline indivisa is a monocot tree endemic to New Zealand.
Dig a hole at least two or three times as wide and deep as the root ball. Take out the plant from the container and loosen roots to allow them to spread out in all direction. Cut possible broken roots. Mix the soil extracted with a substrate and fill part of the hole with the mixture obtained. Place the plant in the hole and cover with the remaining mixture. Compact the soil around the plant and water thoroughly.
