PLANTS OF ORANGE SEDGE - CAREX TESTACEA

Ornamental grass used as a ground-cover. Highly appreciated in gardens for the colour of its foliage.

Perennial plant up to 40cm with narrow, arching, and olive-green leaves turning coppery-orange in winter. Little brown flowers.

Adapts to any humid and well-drained soils. It is found throughout New Zealand in lowland to mountain forests, grasslands and sand dunes.
