An ornamental tree very showy for its weeping foliage. This tree is also called Weeping cypress. This tree is linked to religious cultures. It is present in Buddhist temples and monasteries.
Evergreen conifer reaching 20 to 40m. Scaly bark and thick trunk. Narrow, pyramidal and weeping shape. Blue-greenish and needle-like leaves hanging on its branches.
Prefers sandy, well drained soils from neutral to acid ones.
