PLANTS OF SOUTHERN CATTAIL - TYPHA DOMINGENSIS

Aquatic plant found in lakes, lagoons, swamps and canals. Ornamental and basketery. Its soft stems are edible as a vegetable.

Herbaceous aquatic plant up to 2.5m. Perennial. Flowers in spikes light brown to dark brown colour. Elongated, large, leaves that can surpass the inflorescences.

Prefers moist soils even flooded.
