The Branched Bur-Reed or Sparganium erectum is an aquatic plant with a fundamental role: this beautiful plant is an indicator of little contaminated water. It lives perfectly in shallow marshes, ponds and streams.
It is a robust plant, up to 50 cm tall with broad leaves and beautiful flowers on a very short stem. It is found in channels and wetlands next to Juncus and Scirpus. It provides food and cover for wildlife.
