Tropical tree native to Central America that can be grown in pots and containers in our climates in winter gardens and greenhouses. Edible flowers used in baking. Toxic sap.
The tree is 6 to 8m high in its natural environment, it can reach up to 3m in pot culture. Deciduous, loses its leaves in winter indoors. Green, glossy leaves with a central vein that can reach 40cm in length. Its flowers appear from summer to autumn. The centre is yellow and the petals are white with yellow shades. Very fragrant.
