Very decorative, perfect as an indoor plant, container and for bonsai.
Evergree. Grows from 20cm to 2m. The leaves are dark green. They look like sickles as palm tree leaves do. The blooming is spectacular and is followed by the development of the seeds. They are big and covered with a thin orange skin.

Dig a hole at least two or three times as wide and deep as the root ball. Take out the plant from the container and loosen roots to allow them to spread out in all direction. Cut possible broken roots. Mix the soil extracted with a substrate and fill part of the hole with the mixture obtained. Place the plant in the hole and cover with the remaining mixture. Compact the soil around the plant and water thoroughly.
Prefers sandy, acid or neutral and well drained soils.
It is widely used in landscaping of urban and coastal zones in the mediterranean regions. Planted on a lawn it is a high value for of its elegance.
