Fruit tree producing the figs. Bonsai. The fig is eaten fresh, dry or as an ingredient for numerous dishes. Ornamental in a garden as isolated tree or in rockery. The latex produced by the fig tree was used against tooth decay, warts and to curdle milk.
Deciduous tree growing up to 10m with palmed dark-green leaves. Little whitish flowers. The fig, is plump, soft and sweet with a purple green skin.
Prefers sandy and acid soils.
