PLANTS OF COMMON PEAR TREE - PYRUS COMMUNIS

Fruit tree with ornamental use. Rootstock. The pear is eaten as fruit or used for the preparation of dishes. The common pear tree is a rootstock for other varieties of pears. It can be grown in a grande as an ornamental tree. Its wood is used in carpentry.

Deciduous tree, 20m, with green oval leaves. White flowers that grow in bunches and whose edible fruit is the pear.

Prefers siliceous, permeable and deep soils.

Dig a hole at least two or three times as wide and deep as the root ball. Take out the plant from the container and loosen roots to allow them to spread out in all direction. Cut possible broken roots. Mix the soil extracted with a substrate and fill part of the hole with the mixture obtained. Place the plant in the hole and cover with the remaining mixture. Compact the soil around the plant and water thoroughly.
