The Wild Cherry is a fruit tree as well as a valuable timber. Urban gardens and public green areas. The wild cherry tree produces one of the best quality wood and it is of a high value in the furniture industry and carpentry. The blackish wild cherry is smaller and sourer tasting than the cultivated varieties of cherries.
Deciduous tree growing up to 30m with lovely white flowers before the leaves. Oval leaves with a serrated edge. Prefers well-drained, deep, cool and fertile soils. It cannot stand flooded soils.
