The most cultivated and prized variety of Pistachio for its fruits. They are consumed fresh or dried. It has to be planted next to the Pistacia vera type Peters to favor fruit production. It prefers sandy loam soils, deep and well drained. It is a good alternative to take advantage of poor soils, thanks to its rusticity and resilience. It needs little water.
Very early variety of reduced vigor. It has a large, rounded fruit. Late blooming (mid April) and with high needs for cold hours, which makes it suitable for large areas in continental Mediterranean climate.
Dig a hole at least two or three times as wide and deep as the root ball. Take out the plant from the container and loosen roots to allow them to spread out in all direction. Cut possible broken roots. Mix the soil extracted with a substrate and fill part of the hole with the mixture obtained. Place the plant in the hole and cover with the remaining mixture. Compact the soil around the plant and water thoroughly.
