A little-known exotic fruit! The melon pear is an exotic fruit with a special, unique, refreshing flavour that is easy to grow, a combination of melon and pear.
Perennifolia with an oval fruit, smooth, shiny yellow skin with purple streaks. Soft, juicy and sweet flesh.
It is often grown as an annual, as it has to be grown indoors because it cannot withstand cold winters.
It requires well-drained, rich soil with an acidic to neutral pH.
