The passion fruit, known all over the world for its fruit, the passion fruit, used in multiple preparations, soft drinks, ice creams, fruit... But it has another hidden beauty, its peculiar and striking flowers!
It can grow up to 10m high and has evergreen, lobed leaves with a toothed margin. Very aromatic white flowers, crowned by a band of purple-violet filaments. Oblong fruit, the size of a hen's egg, purplish purple when ripe. Self-fertile.
Needs fertile, well-drained soil. Exposure to full sun, mild temperatures, being very sensitive to frost.
Passion fruit is rich in vitamins A and C. It has relaxing, sedative and calming effects, antispasmodic.
