It can grow up to 10m high and has evergreen, lobed leaves with a toothed margin. Very aromatic white flowers, crowned by a band of purple-violet filaments. Oblong fruit, the size of a hen's egg, purplish purple when ripe. Self-fertile.
Needs fertile, well-drained soil. Exposure to full sun, mild temperatures, being very sensitive to frost.
Passion fruit is rich in vitamins A and C. It has relaxing, sedative and calming effects, antispasmodic.
