The Tanaka loquat is the later variety but sweeter and more aromatic. Juicy and sweet flavour, with a somewhat thick yellow-orange skin. It is very productive with medium-sized fruits.
Evergreen and ornamental with large, elongated dark green leaves with serrated edge. Very melliferous blossom. Round but slightly oval fruit, sweet but slightly acidic.
Adapts to all types of soils with neutral pH. Undemanding, resistant to cold and dryness.
