The soursop has a hard shell covered with soft spines and is dark green in colour. Its pulp is white and very aromatic with a sweet taste. Similar to the custard apple.
Tree 3-8m high, with reddish branches and a crown with compact foliage. Lanceolate, hard, long dark green leaves. Large, fragrant, yellow flowers.
It needs well-drained, loamy, sandy and clay soils.
