PLANTS OF PERSIAN LIME, BEARSS LIME - CITRUS X LATIFOLIA

The lime tree is a not very vigorous tree of between 3-5m, thorny but very beautiful. It flowers in spring.

The Persian lime! It is a fruit with less acidity and no bitterness compared to the normal lime. It is small and oval in shape and does not contain seeds. It is harvested with green rind, before it ripens and turns yellow.

Native to tropical Asia. Very sensitive to cold but easily adaptable to less fertile soils. Fast growing.

Rootstock Macrophylla. (Sensitive to tristeza if grafted on orange trees, but tolerant if grafted on lemon trees. Hybrid widely used nowadays for its fast and good production. Suitable for all types of soil.)
