The desert spoon, a very decorative and ornamental plant is perfect for rockery, low-maintenance gardens and xero-landscaping.
Originally from Mexico and the southern United States, it was used by the natives as food and to make fire with the stem of its flower.
Shrub up to 1.5m although reclined on the ground. Slow growth. Evergreen, thin and very long leaves of greenish gray color and with serrated margin, grow radially from the center. The flowers grow above the leaves and their color depends on the sex of the plant, white if it is male and purple-pink if it is female.
