Known as Oriental Bunching Onion it forms a long, white, thick shaft similar to a leek. 20-60cm tall. It can be eaten fresh or cooked, in tempura and used as a condiment for its strong flavor.
Sowing from January to April outdoors. Maintain 20cm of distance between plants in rows, and 20cm of separation between rows.
They are harvested in summer and early fall. It needs well drained and fertile soils.
