The vermiculite is used mixed with the substrate providing aeration and hydration. Retains nutrients and water avoiding asphyxiation of substrates. Vermiculite is usually incorporated into the substrate in an average proportion of 20%.

Vermiculite is an inert material with a neutral pH, it is light, porous and absorbs water fast. It is pathogens free.
