POTATO POT - PINDSTRUP POTATO POT®

Grow potatoes at home and collect for several weeks! This "Potato pot" is an easy and fun way to grow potatoes without the need of a vegetable garden. Ideal for small gardens, terraces, balconies, etc.

The system is patented and consists of two plastic pots that fit together. Fill the pots halfway with UNIVERSAL substrate, put 2 or 3 seed potatoes of the variety chosen and separated from each other by 10 cm. You can also use potatoes bought at the market. Cover the potatoes with the same substrate until filling the pots. Water well and keep moist and fertilize during all the process. The UNIVERSAL substrate contains sufficient fertilizer for the first 15 days approx.

After about 8-10 weeks you can start collecting the potatoes, taking out the inner pot and accessing the fruits directly. You can continue collecting potatoes after a while since neither the plant nor the small tubers are damaged in the harvest. Up to about 8 kg of potatoes / pot throughout the season and according to varieties.

Tips:

• The best time to plant potatoes: from February to April.
• If you let the seed potatoes germinate before planting, keeping them in a place with light and at a temperature of about 20 ° C, the harvest can be earlier by about two weeks.
• At first and until the plants emerge, it is convenient to cover the pots with a transparent plastic that lets perspiration. Thus it provides a more favorable temperature and humidity.
• During frost period, place the pots in a sheltered place or in a greenhouse where they receive a lot of light. Then remove to the outside as soon as the risk of frost disappears.
• If the plants grow a lot in height it is advisable to cut them so that they do not exceed 25 cm. approx. of length.
