PLANTS OF SIBERIAN ELM - ULMUS PUMILA

This Elm is mainly used as a street, square, garden and park tree. It tolerates urban pollution well and acts against erosion. Relatively resistant to Dutch Elm disease. Hardy. Fast growing. Environmental plantings.

A 12-15m tall deciduous tree. Globe-like crown. Elliptic, lanceolate and dark green leaves. Tiny, reddish flowers. The dry fruit contains one seed in the middle, circled by a wing.

It adapts well to any types of soils prefering light and fresh or humid ones.
