Perfect vine for walls and hedges as well as groundcovers. For traditional Chinese medicine, its flower has great value for its anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, anti-flu, etc properties.
It can reach 10m with bright green oval leaves, deciduous or semi-deciduous. Long flowering, tubular, yellowish white and very fragrant. Globose dark blue fruit.
It adapts to all types of soils, moist and rich in organic matter. It is recommended for shady places facing north. Although its growth must be controlled because it is very invasive.
Dig a hole at least two or three times as wide and deep as the root ball. Take out the plant from the container and loosen roots to allow them to spread out in all direction. Cut possible broken roots. Mix the soil extracted with a substrate and fill part of the hole with the mixture obtained. Place the plant in the hole and cover with the remaining mixture. Compact the soil around the plant and water thoroughly.
